Director of Photography/Producer: Glynn David Harrs On Thursday, Feb. 10th hundreds of the students, faculty of the University of New Mexico celebrated Black History Month by enthusiastically hosting the Al Sharpton and Lee Saunders kick off for "The Rekindling the Spirit of America Grassroots Tour" which they say they are doing to jump-start a "Reliance of Students, Clergy and Labor." Media pundits have dubbed Sharpton's tour as the official start of the 2021 US Presidential Election campaign! Prior to their New Mexico visit, Sharpton told the Huffington Post: "I will be addressing union members, clergy, community organizers and everyday citizens from across New Mexico to discuss the integral relationship between labor movements and civil rights. Joining me at this pivotal two-day conference will be Lee Saunders, International Secretary-Treasurer for AFSCME (the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees). The two central themes of this vital event are: 'Civil Servants: Pillars of a Civil Society' and 'Faces of Public Service: Thanking Those Who Serve Our Community'."
